Positive experience at the passport office

The family and I are off on holidays shortly. Since 2004 it is necessary for all children to have their own passports, rather than being on their parents’ ones. Naturally, we left it too late to get around to organising the passport for our youngest, so I had to drop into the passport office yesterday.
Given some of the horror stories I’ve heard in the past, I was expecting to have to stay there all day to get served. Nothing could be further from the truth. When I arrived, there were about 45 people ahead of me in the queue. I took my number and sat down ready for a long day. However, with 8 counters running at full tilt, I was seen in about 30 minutes. The guy at the counter checked all my documentation, and I was on my way within another 5.
Overall, an excellently efficient service. Kudos to the passport office guys.
